After experiencing numerous unexplained encounters with cryptid creatures, Colin Haskins, an avid hiker and passionate biology enthusiast, founded the Connecticut Cryptid Investigative Society (CCIS) in the spring of 2018. His goal was to investigate unusual activities and strange animal sightings throughout Connecticut. Haskins began recording his impressions of the places he visited, and after a few years, he and his wife decided to take it more seriously. Together, they created the CCIS online platform and community group.
